Green Living Planet is proud to be a company that provides superior green cleaning services for our clients. We are committed to being eco cleaners that care not just about the welfare of our clients, but the environment that we all live in.
Green Cleaning Services outlined here are intended to reduce the exposure of employees, and clients to chemical, biological, and particulate matter that may be harmful to human health, and the built and natural environments. A green cleaning service makes no compromises on the final result; which should always be a clean, healthy environment. Where this type of cleaning differs is in the consideration that the eco cleaners give to the type of product that is used, and how those products impact the environment both in their manufacture, and in disposal.
Our overall cleaning standards are based on LEED standards. LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is an internationally recognized green building certification system developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). Other sources for our standards are Green Seal (GS) and the Carpet and Rug Institute (CRI). The LEED rating systems help building owners and operators measure operations, improvements, and maintenance on a consistent scale, with the goal of maximizing operational efficiency while minimizing environmental impacts.
The LEED for Existing Buildings: Operations and Maintenance program (EBOM) is a certification program that addresses whole-building cleaning and maintenance issues (including chemical use), recycling programs, exterior maintenance programs, and systems upgrades. LEED Building Design and Construction (BD+C) is a certification for new or major renovation projects based on their design and construction. Both rating systems award projects for incorporating environmentally responsible, green cleaning services and practices into building operations and policies.
A training program has been designed for cleaning and maintenance staff, who are responsible for implementing green cleaning procedures on a daily basis. Custodial and management staff will receive full Green Cleaning Plan Training within 30 days of hire as well as annual training reviews will be performed.
The training program is to ensure staff to understand the environmental and health issues associated with cleaning products and equipment, as well as their specific responsibilities for application and adherence of the policy.
The curriculum covers the hazards, use, maintenance, disposal and recycling of cleaning chemicals, and dispensing equipment and packaging. This program also includes strategies for promoting and improving hand hygiene, including both hand washing and the use of alcohol-based waterless hand sanitizers. The training is conducted annually, training all janitors and managers. Operations Manager at the Green Living Planet LLC is responsible for updating the training program. Area Managers are responsible for training program delivery and compliance.
A staffing model for the customer along with detailed cleaning schedules and tasks will be maintained. Schedules will include checklist of procedures for maintaining the job scope.
A plan for conducting routine inspections to evaluate the effectiveness of the cleaning program, using Green Living Planet’s standards as a guide, is in place. Supervisors and Lead Janitors will conduct routine inspections and maintain records of inspection results and the corrective actions taken. A corrective plan is in place for any areas that fall below the target level of cleanliness. The plan includes the following:
Review the performance of the janitor to insure that procedures are being followed as specified. This is accomplished by observing the janitor as each task is performed. The janitor is retrained in the correct procedures.
If procedures are being followed correctly, a review of the process is required. This will include a look at the appropriateness of the cleaning tasks and tools, cleaning frequency and any changes in room usage.
New cleaning schedules will be generated that reflect the new cleaning routines. The janitor will be retrained in the new procedures. The area will be inspected twice a month for six months to assure quality levels are maintained
Cleaning Products and Equipment
Green Living Planet uses the latest sustainable cleaning chemicals and materials that are CACC certified. Each customer is provided a list of the cleaning products used in their building.
We use powered cleaning equipment that helps to reduce building contaminants and minimize any negative impact to the built and natural environment. This equipment includes Vacuum cleaners with HEPA systems, Green Encapsulating Carpet Extractor and electric powered low speed and high speed floor buffers and burnishers. The powered equipment is ergonomically designed to minimize vibration, noise, and user fatigue. The equipment is designed with safeguards, such as rollers or rubber bumpers, to reduce potential damage to building surfaces.
All Customers can email feedback to Green Living Planet LLC by emailing to firstname.lastname@example.org. All issues are forwarded to the Operations Manager responsible for the building. The operations manager must establish routine meetings with their building Business Managers or other customer representative at least monthly. A record of these meetings is maintained.
